Just bought a Dell Mini 9

After the two internet tablets sold, I put the second part of my “master plan” into action by using the money to buy a Dell Inspiron Mini 9. I’m pretty pumped about it – at 2.3 pounds, it’ll be light enough to carry around comfortably and use in class, but as an x86 (Atom) based netbook, it can run all of the software that I already use. There’s also a great blog about getting the most out of Ubuntu on the Mini 9 that I’ve been following. I suspect that I’ll be ditching the Dell-installed copy of Ubuntu for my own installation, but I’ll have to wait and see.
I’m also pretty pumped about the built-in webcam. Now I just need to get a webcam for my parents so that they can keep in touch with Jennifer and I with Skype. I will, of course, type up a real review once it arrives on my doorstep.
