I had the sermon for mother&#039;s day too and tried to integrate pointing to Jesus as the true vine and making mothers see how they bear fruit when they abide in Jesus- and then relate that to fruit bearing to the rest of the congregation.  My parents were visiting, so I definitely scored points by singling her out and saying happy mothers day at the beginning of the service. Thanks for sharing.  I appreciated your not trying to white wash life, and recognizing that the day isn&#039;t always puppies and sunshine, but how you also spoke of hope and the promises of what it means to have Christ abiding in us and his invitation for us to abide in him.
