It comes from my experience of realizing just how blessed I am to be married to such a good and faithful woman. It’s very easy to take the people we love for granted. Every once in a while, though, those scales fall from my eyes and I’m dumbstruck by the blessing I have in her.

I included You Are Beautiful, My Love in When I think about the way you love me, oh how I know that I’m for you.

And there is nothing I won’t do
If it means that I can show the world the love I have for you.
And there is no place I won’t fly
If it means that I can look into your eyes.

You are beautiful, my love.
You are beautiful, my love.
And there is no one I would rather spend my life with than you.
You are beautiful, my love.
You are beautiful, my love.
And there is no one, there is no one I would rather dream of.

When I think about you smiling sweetly, I am overcome by you.
When I think about the way you love me, oh how I know that I’m for you.

And there is no place I won’t go
If I must go there so you can see the love I have to show.
And there is nothing I won’t say
If it means that I can take your breath away.

You are beautiful, my love.
Morning Light is intended to be simple, singable, and catchy. The music is written in 6/8 time to encourage the assembly to move as they sing.

About the Composer

I am a student of Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA and a candidate for ordination in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. I am currently in my third year of study, undertaking a year-long internship at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling, Illinois, USA.

I would appreciate knowing when and where this work is used.
